CROTON TOWNSHIP LIBRARY

On December 22, 2008, the Croton Township Board appointed six volunteers to serve in the capacity of Township Library Board.   These people were charged with the duty of creating a new library for the Township in accordance with the ballot initiative passed in November, 2008..   This Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Library unless posted otherwise.

 The Library opened May 1 in the southeast half of the former Fire Barn building (Phase I), and we are also a member of the Lakeland Cooperative, going fully operational on October 6.  Our Director is Ashley Hawley, who was previously a Library Assistant at the Sparta Library; the Library Assistant is Johna Thatcher.  We are also planning for renovations to the building (Phase II) which will include a community room and facilities and an enlarged library as soon as sufficient funding is made available.   We have received very generous donations for the Library in the form of books, CDs, DVDs, VCR tapes, audio books, magazines, etc.  These tax deductible donations may continue to be made at the Library.   We are very grateful for having received over 8,000 donated items.  In addition, if you would like to work as a volunteer at the Library, please contact the Library.

Saturday          9 a.m. to 1 p.m.                       Wednesday     3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

            Tuesday           9 a.m. to 1 p.m.                       Friday              1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
