3 Easy Ways to Pay
Online

We are now accepting property tax payments online using your major credit card.  The Township has partnered with GovPayNet, a leader in the processing of tax payments online.  This process is fast, secure and convenient!

Here's how:

1. First, look up the total amount due here using the BS&A Portal.

2. Record your amount due and your parcel number.  You'll need this information for the GovPayNet website.

3. Click the icon below to make the payment online using the GovPayNet Service. Enter your parcel number for your parcel ID.

Mail

As always, you may mail in your payment to the Township.  Please send the payment stub (bottom portion of the tax bill) along with your check (payable to Croton Township) to:

Croton Township Treasurer

5833 E Division Street

Newaygo, MI 49337

In Person

You may pay your taxes in person on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  Please call beforehand to ensure the Treasurer is available on the day you are planning to visit.  If you visit outside of our office hours, you may drop your payment in our drop box conveniently located on the front of the Township Hall.

Our address is:

Croton Township

5833 E Division Street

Newaygo, MI 49337

Clicking on the icon above will open the GovPayNet website.  This service is provided to you for your convenience.  GovPayNet charges a 2.65% fee for the processing of the credit card payment.  This fee is paid to GovPayNet and is not associated with the Township or your tax bill.
View Your Property Tax Bill Online

You can now view your property tax bill online through Access My Gov portal powered by BS&A software.  It's free to property owners to view your bill and displays the latest amount due.  You'll have to create an account and then you may search by name, address or parcel number.  You'll need to use the GovPayNet website above to pay your taxes after you record amount due from the Access My Gov portal.  This website will not accept payments- it's provided to lookup the total due only.

Winter 2019 Taxes

Winter tax bills will be mailed on or about December 1, 2019.  If you don't receive your tax bill in the mail on or about December 7, please contact us here or call 231-652-2388 to ensure we have the correct mailing address on file.
Change of Address: If you have moved, please make sure to let me know your new mailing address so you will continue to receive your tax bills in a timely manner. The easiest method to update your address is by email to: kedwards@crotontownship.org.

State of Michigan PRE Audits

If you receive a notice from the State of Michigan on your PRE (Homestead) exemption, please contact them directly with the required info as soon as possible. Time if of the essence. If you do not respond to them, the State will automatically rescind your PRE and you could be billed back to 2014 for the amounts. The Township cannot help you with these audits except for providing you with copies of any paperwork you may have filed for the exemption. Please contact the Assessor for copies. The State has chosen Newaygo County to audit and these audits are ongoing. If you claim a PRE exemption and your tax bill mailing address does not match the property address, this is an automatic red flag for an audit.
