Note: Summer 2020 Taxes are due September 14, 2020. Summer & Winter 2020 tax bills are payable to this office until March 1, 2021.  They will turn over to the County Treasurer after March 1, 2021. Summer 2020 tax bills have been mailed.  If you do not have your bill, please contact us here or call 231-652-2388 to obtain a copy and to ensure we have the correct mailing address on file. 
3 Easy Ways to Pay
Online

We are now accepting property tax payments online using your major credit card.  The Township has partnered with GovPayNet, a leader in the processing of tax payments online.  This process is fast, secure and convenient!  

Here's how:

1. First, look up the total amount due using the BS&A Portal button below:

2. Record your amount due and your parcel number.  You'll need this information for the GovPayNet allpaid website.

 

3. Click the icon below or scan the QR Code to make the payment online using the GovPayNet Service. Enter your parcel number for your parcel ID.

Mail

As always, you may mail in your payment to the Township.  Please send the payment stub (bottom portion of the tax bill) along with your check (payable to Croton Township) to:

In Person

You may pay your taxes in person on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  Please call beforehand to ensure the Treasurer is available on the day you are planning to visit.  If you visit outside of our office hours, you may drop your payment in our drop box conveniently located on the front of the Township Hall.

Clicking on the icon above will open the GovPayNet website.  This service is provided to you for your convenience.  GovPayNet charges a 3% fee for the processing of the credit card payment.  This fee is paid to GovPayNet and is not associated with the Township or your tax bill.
View Your Property Tax Bill Online
 
You can now view your property tax bill online through Access My Gov portal powered by BS&A software.  It's free to property owners to view your bill and displays the latest amount due.  You'll have to create an account and then you may search by name, address or parcel number.  You'll need to use the GovPayNet website above to pay your taxes after you record amount due from the Access My Gov portal.  This website will not accept payments- it's provided to lookup the total due only.
Change of Address: If you have moved, please make sure to let me know your new mailing address so you will continue to receive your tax bills in a timely manner. The easiest method to update your address is by sending an email to: kedwards@crotontownship.org.

Important note to Tax Payment Services and Title Companies:  The fastest way  way to get copies of tax bills and answers to questions that cannot be answered on the BS&A website portal is to email Kim Edwards at kedwards@crotontownship.org.
Property Assessment Questions
Questions about property assessments, hardship exemptions, PRE exemptions, or veteran’s exemptions must be directed to the Assessor's office.  Please call the Assessor Jackie Thompson at 231-652-4301 during Township office hours on Wednesdays from 9am – 12 pm or at 231-245-1410 during non-office hours.
Delinquent Taxes
Delinquent tax bills for 2019 or previous years are payable to the Newaygo County Treasurer at 231-689-7230.

For Township Zoning, Cemetery, Transfer Station and all Township question except taxes, please call the main line at 231-652-4301.
